Client Services Technician I – MSP / Field Support
Jersey City, NJ | On-Site | $50K–$65K
A growing New York City-based Managed Service Provider is looking for a Client Services Technician I to join its technical team. The company provides high-touch IT support, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and emerging AI solutions to organizations where uptime, security, and compliance are critical, including hedge funds, private equity firms, RIAs, law firms, and other professional services organizations.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their IT career who wants to get into a strong MSP environment, receive structured training and mentorship, and build experience supporting sophisticated client environments.
The company is not looking for a finished engineer. Technical fundamentals matter, but personality, professionalism, communication, and willingness to learn are equally important. They want someone who can eventually walk into a demanding client environment, represent the company professionally, communicate confidently with executives and end users, and provide a high level of customer service.
What You’ll Be Doing
Provide onsite and remote technical support for New Jersey clients
Troubleshoot Windows desktops, laptops, Microsoft 365, and common end-user issues.
Assist with basic Microsoft 365 administration.
Troubleshoot basic networking and connectivity issues.
Prepare for and execute scheduled onsite client appointments.
Communicate directly with users and keep them informed throughout the troubleshooting process.
Recognize issues outside the scope of an onsite appointment and coordinate with the remote support team for proper escalation.
Own assigned tickets and ensure issues are handled according to established support procedures.
Maintain detailed ticket notes and update internal technical documentation.
Work alongside more experienced engineers and receive structured training and mentorship as you develop technically.
What They’re Looking For
Strong Windows troubleshooting fundamentals.
Basic understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting.
Associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or relevant technical experience; a college degree is preferred but not required.
Comfortable working directly with clients and explaining technical issues to non-technical users.
Polished, professional, and confident client-facing presence.
Eager to learn, coachable, and receptive to mentorship.
Comfortable working onsite at New Jersey client locations.
Why This Role Stands Out
This is more than a traditional entry-level help desk position. You’ll get exposure to clients in financial services, legal, and other high-stakes professional environments, where technology and cybersecurity are critical to the business.
You’ll have the opportunity to learn within an MSP environment that touches Microsoft 365, cloud infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and modern AI-driven technology, while working alongside experienced engineers who can help accelerate your technical development.
For someone who is personable, technically curious, and looking to build a long-term IT career, there is significant room to grow beyond the initial Client Services Technician position.
