About the role
The Software Architect will be responsible for designing and overseeing scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable software solutions across enterprise applications and digital platforms. The role involves defining technical architecture, evaluating technology stacks, establishing engineering standards, and guiding development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Design and define software architectures that meet business requirements while ensuring scalability, security, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, frameworks, architectural patterns, and infrastructure solutions based on technical and operational requirements.
- Develop and maintain architecture documentation, including system design specifications, component diagrams, integration patterns, and technical decision records.
- Establish and enforce software engineering standards, coding practices, security guidelines, and architectural governance across development teams.
- Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Conduct architecture and technical design reviews to identify potential risks, performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams in implementing complex software solutions and resolving architectural challenges.
- Ensure seamless integration between applications, databases, APIs, and external systems while maintaining data integrity, interoperability, and system reliability.
- Evaluate existing systems and recommend architectural improvements, modernization strategies, and technology upgrades where necessary.
- Oversee technical aspects of software delivery, including deployment architecture, observability, performance optimization, and high availability.
Required skills & competencies
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, object-oriented programming, and distributed systems.
- Proven experience with modern backend technologies such as Java/Spring Boot, Python/Django/FastAPI, Go, Ruby on Rails, or equivalent frameworks.
- Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, API design, microservices, asynchronous communication, and system integration.
- Practical knowledge of cloud and on-premises infrastructure, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Strong understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, scalability, performance optimization, and high-availability architecture.
- Ability to communicate architectural decisions, evaluate technical trade-offs, and provide technical direction to cross-functional teams.
Qualifications & experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline from an HEC-recognized institution, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 6 years of professional software engineering experience, including demonstrated responsibility for software architecture, system design, and technical leadership.
