Job Overview – Licensed School Counselor (LCSW/LMHC)

Compensation: $68 – $76/hour

Location

Queens, NY

Schedule: Full-Time, Part-Time, or Per Diem (School Schedule)

TAG MedStaffing is hiring a

Licensed School Counselor (LCSW or LMHC) in Queens, NY

to support students in school-based counseling and mental health settings for the current school year. You will provide individual and group counseling, support IEP-aligned goals, and help students build social, emotional, and behavioral skills for classroom success.

Responsibilities as the Licensed School Counselor

Counseling Support:

Provide individual and group counseling services to students with social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs.

Student Development:

Support students with coping skills, emotional regulation, peer relationships, and classroom readiness.

IEP & Care Coordination:

Collaborate with school teams, providers, and families to support IEP goals, intervention plans, and student progress.

Qualifications for the Licensed School Counselor

Education

Master’s degree in School Counseling, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field is required.

Licensure:

Active New York State

LCSW or LMHC is required

.

Certification:

New York State School Counselor certification is preferred.

Experience

Prior school-based counseling, student support, behavioral health, or mental health experience is preferred.
