Responsibilities

Prepare timely, organized, and accurate residential and commercial estimates using the appropriate level of detail for each stage of the opportunity.
Lead the continued refinement and expansion of our estimating systems, historical cost data, unit costs, assemblies, and workflows that improve estimate speed and accuracy over time
Review plans, specifications, and bid documents.
Perform quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar software.
Develop scopes, assumptions, exclusions, and allowances.
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
Prepare commercial bid packages.
Identify project risks and missing scope.
Conduct scope walkthroughs with client and subcontractors as needed

Qualifications

Required

5+ years of construction estimating experience.
Residential and commercial estimating experience.
Experience leading commercial bids from takeoff through submission.
Ability to read plans and perform quantity takeoffs, identify gaps and exclusions.
Advanced proficiency with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar.
Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.

Preferred

Experience with renovation or historic restoration projects.
Experience improving estimating systems or workflows.

What We Offer

Salary: $75,000–$95,000 annually (full-time) or $36–$48/hour (part-time), based on experience.
Performance bonus: up to 5% of salary annually, based on projects won and how closely completed projects match estimated costs.
Health insurance: company pays 50% of employee premiums for full-time employees.
Paid time off: 10 days in your first year, increasing to 15 days after two years, plus 6 paid holidays.
Additional time off beyond standard PTO when work is current and communication stays strong.
Primarily remote: in person only as needed for client meetings, walkthroughs, and pre-bid meetings in the Greater New Orleans area.
Annual performance review with merit-based raises.
Client referral bonus: $1,000 for each new client project you bring in that we sign (projects over $20,000)
Company-provided Bluebeam (or equivalent) license and AI tools.
Mileage reimbursement at the current IRS standard rate.
