Client Overview: Our client is a leading financial technology company leveraging artificial intelligence and innovative technology to modernize lending and financial services and is looking for a reliable Technical Integration Engineer - Banking & Financial Systems. Partnering with banks and credit unions nationwide, the organization develops scalable solutions that streamline financial operations, improve access to credit, and enhance the lending experience. Salary/Hourly Rate: $50/hr - $80/hr Position Overview: Our client is seeking a Technical Integration Engineer - Banking & Financial Systems for a six-month contract-to-hire opportunity. This individual will support the technical onboarding and implementation of banking and lending partners, taking ownership of integrations from requirements gathering through production launch.
This is a hands-on technical implementation role rather than a traditional software development position. The ideal candidate will have strong REST API and integration platform experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work directly with external partners to deliver successful implementations. Responsibilities of the Technical Integration Engineer - Banking & Financial Systems:
Own end-to-end technical onboarding and integration implementations for banks and credit unions.
Gather technical requirements and translate business workflows into integration specifications and data mappings.
Configure, test, and maintain integrations using Workato, REST APIs, SFTP, and existing core banking connectors.
Execute end-to-end testing across account creation, loan boarding, funding, document transfers, and data updates.
Troubleshoot API connectivity, authentication, data mapping, middleware, and production integration issues.
Collaborate with external lending partners and internal Product, Engineering, and Account Management teams.
Support production launches, resolve post-implementation issues, and maintain integration reliability.
Improve implementation efficiency through standardized processes, reusable templates, automation, and documentation.
Leverage AI tools to assist with data mapping, troubleshooting, and technical documentation. Required Experience/Skills for the Technical Integration Engineer - Banking & Financial Systems:
4+ years of experience in integration engineering, solutions engineering, technical implementation, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
Hands-on experience implementing and troubleshooting REST API integrations, including JSON, authentication, data mapping, error handling, and API testing.
Experience with systems integration, middleware, or iPaaS platforms such as Workato, MuleSoft, Boomi, or similar technologies.
Ability to independently manage technical integrations through requirements gathering, configuration, testing, deployment, and production support.
Experience gathering technical requirements and translating business needs into integration solutions.
Strong experience working directly with external clients or partners to resolve technical issues.
Excellent communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. Preferred Experience/Skills for the Technical Integration Engineer - Banking & Financial Systems:
Hands-on Workato experience, particularly recipe development and workflow configuration.
Experience within banking, lending, fintech, or financial services environments.
Familiarity with core banking platforms such as Jack Henry Symitar, Fiserv DNA, Corelation Keystone, Fiserv Premier, or FIS.
Knowledge of SFTP, PGP encryption, NACHA files, loan boarding, and financial data exchange.
Experience using Postman, SQL, or similar tools for API testing and data validation.
Experience supporting production integrations, go-live activities, incident troubleshooting, and post-launch support. Education Requirements:
Relevant technical experience is required. Benefits:
Six-month contract-to-hire position with potential for permanent conversion.
Opportunity to work with modern integration technologies and AI-powered tools.
Direct exposure to banking, lending, and core financial technology systems.
End-to-end ownership of technical implementations and production launches.
Collaborative environment with opportunities for professional growth and increased responsibility.
Potential for long-term career advancement as the organization continues to expand. Job Wrapping ID: #LI-AJ3
