Job Description

A registered investment advisory (RIA) firm with approximately $5 billion in assets under management is seeking a senior financial planning professional to lead and develop its paraplanning team while overseeing complex financial plans for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients. This is a hands-on leadership role combining team management, technical planning expertise, and process improvement.

The individual will mentor and develop junior planners, establish consistent planning standards and quality controls, manage team workflows, and serve as a technical resource for advisors handling sophisticated client situations. Planning responsibilities include retirement income, tax optimization, Roth conversions, equity compensation, business owners, and estate planning coordination.

The role will also focus on improving planning processes through technology, automation, and AI, while partnering with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure consistent, high-quality client service across multiple offices.

Qualifications

6+ years of financial planning experience, including HNW/UHNW clients.

CFP® designation in good standing.

Prior experience managing, mentoring, or developing financial planners or paraplanners.

Strong technical expertise in retirement, tax, and estate planning.

Advanced proficiency with financial planning software, such as eMoney or similar platforms.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable recommendations.

Additional credentials, experience in a multi-office advisory firm, and expertise in developing training programs or quality-control processes are preferred.

This role can sit in Red Bank, New Jersey, Cleveland, Ohio, or Charleston, South Carolina.
