About the Opportunity
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with an established, growing construction organization in the Fort Lauderdale area seeking an experienced Accounting Manager
to join its team.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone with a strong construction accounting background who enjoys overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, managing a team, and partnering with project and operational leadership.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a larger construction environment, with a solid understanding of project accounting, job costing, WIP reporting, and subcontractor-related accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
Manage and mentor a team of four accounting professionals.
Oversee construction project accounting, including job costing, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition.
Review project costs, budgets, cost-to-complete estimates, and financial performance.
Support subcontractor accounting, including payment applications, billing, and related documentation.
Partner closely with project managers and operational leadership to ensure accurate project financial reporting.
Assist with process improvements, internal controls, and overall accounting efficiency.
Support financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and other accounting initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Strong accounting experience within the construction industry .
Previous accounting management or supervisory experience.
Experience with job costing, WIP reporting, and construction revenue recognition.
Familiarity with subcontractor accounting, payment applications, and construction billing processes.
Experience working within a larger, multi-project construction organization preferred.
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting.
Experience with construction accounting software and strong Excel skills.
Ability to work onsite in Fort Lauderdale five days per week.
