The

Accounting Manager

oversees daily accounting operations, including month-end close execution, financial reporting, and payroll oversight. Reporting to the Controller, this hands-on leadership role guides a compact accounting team, acts as an internal subject-matter expert on financial systems and accounting principles, and partners with executive leadership to support audits, tax compliance, and banking relationships.

Key

Responsibilities

Team Leadership:

Supervise and mentor the general ledger and payroll accounting staff (currently a senior accountant and staff accountant).

Financial Close & Reporting:

Manage and streamline the month-end close process and prepare routine and ad-hoc management reports.

Audits & Advisory:

Serve as an internal resource on accounting standards and assist with annual benefit plan audits and tax preparation.

Qualifications &

Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred); CPA is a plus.

Experience

4+ total years of progressive experience, 2+ years of Big 4 or large national tier public accounting experience and some supervisory responsibilities.

Functional Knowledge:

Strong foundation in cash management, AR/AP, payroll, inventory/cost accounting, GAAP financial reporting, and internal controls.
