Lead the development, implementation, continuous improvement, governance, and sustainability of the R&D Secretariat as the central platform for research, innovation, collaboration, capacity development, and localization initiatives
Support the formulation, execution, and periodic review of the Five-Year Research & Development Program (FRDP), ensuring alignment with national priorities, sector reforms, and energy-transition objectives
Promote a culture of research, innovation, evidence-based decision-making, collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement across the Secretariat and related sectoral initiatives
Identify priority research, innovation, and technology-development areas through stakeholder consultations, sectoral assessments, international market scanning and benchmarking, and analysis of emerging trends and best practices
Lead the design and implementation of innovation programs, applied research projects, technology demonstrations, and emerging technology applications across the power sector
Develop and operationalize frameworks for proposal solicitation, evaluation, project prioritization, approval processes, monitoring, impact assessment, and completion review of R&D initiatives
Coordinate with PPMC departments, sector entities, academia, industry, development partners, and technical experts for the development and implementation of R&D initiatives
Develop strategic collaborations, partnership frameworks, MoUs, and cooperation roadmaps with national and international stakeholders to advance research, innovation, and capacity-development objectives
Represent the R&D Secretariat in committees, technical forums, stakeholder consultations, donor engagements, and strategic review meetings as delegated
Lead the preparation of the annual budget for R&D Secretariat initiatives, facilitate its approval by the Steering Committee, and ensure prudent utilization and compliance with approved budgetary allocations and financial procedures
Lead capacity-development initiatives for PPMC and the power sector through training programs, technical workshops, expert engagements, and knowledge-sharing platforms
Support indigenization and localization initiatives through identification of technology gaps, local manufacturing opportunities, standardization needs, and pilot interventions
Provide strategic and technical input for policy briefs, analytical studies, management presentations, research publications, and sectoral recommendations related to R&D and innovation
Establish and maintain a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) framework, including KPIs, dashboards, impact indicators, and lessons-learned mechanisms
Ensure timely preparation of work plans, implementation roadmaps, progress reports, management briefs, annual reports, and other required reporting outputs
Coordinate with internal departments to ensure effective planning, resource utilization, and implementation of R&D Secretariat initiatives
Perform any other task assigned by the competent authority in accordance with the mandate of PPMC and the R&D Secretariat
Bachelor’s in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (PEC-accredited),Master’s preferred.
