Make a meaningful difference for students by supporting learners with visual impairments in an engaging and collaborative school environment. This contract opportunity spans the academic year, beginning in early September 2026 and concluding mid-June 2027, and offers both full-time and part-time options for maximum flexibility. The role is based fully onsite, providing direct support to students and working alongside a team dedicated to inclusive education. Key Qualifications:
Current Massachusetts Department of Education (MA DOE) license for Teachers of the Visually Impaired Successful completion of MTELs (Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure) Experience or specialized training in adapting curriculum and technologies for visually impaired students is highly valued Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, families, and support staff Primary Responsibilities: Deliver tailored instruction to students with visual impairments, fostering their academic and social growth Assess student progress and adapt materials and strategies to meet individualized learning goals Serve as a resource and consultant for fellow educators and staff regarding accessibility and best practices Contribute to the development and implementation of IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) Maintain up-to-date student records and documentation per district and state regulations
