Math Tutor for High School Student Make a meaningful impact in a student's academic journey by providing individualized math support in a supportive school environment near Manchester, NH. This unique contract position focuses on helping a high school student achieve her graduation goals by building foundational math skills and progressing toward Algebra proficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in both general education and special education, as the student's learning needs require adaptability and creativity in instructional strategies. Qualifications &
Certified or highly experienced General Education and/or Special Education Teacher Background in tutoring or teaching math at elementary and/or high school level Strong ability to scaffold instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to helping students reach academic milestones Effective communicator, able to collaborate with families and school staff Comfortable adapting lessons and pacing for individualized progress
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one math tutoring aligned with third-grade curriculum standards Develop and implement lesson plans that work toward Algebra readiness Track student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed Collaborate with the student's family and educational team to identify strategies and set achievable milestones Maintain a consistent schedule, providing instruction for 30 minutes either every day or every other day, ideally between 9am and 11am (with some flexibility based on family preference) Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment
