As a Blasting Engineer at Biafo Industries Limited, you will design, plan, and oversee blasting operations using Biafo’s explosive products, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient blasting outcomes across diverse field assignments. You’ll serve as a technical authority on blast design while working closely with sales, production, project teams, and site clients.
Role Summary
As a Blasting Engineer at Biafo Industries Limited, you will design, plan, and oversee blasting operations using Biafo’s explosive products, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient blasting outcomes across diverse field assignments. You’ll serve as a technical authority on blast design while working closely with sales, production, project teams, and site clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and calculate blast patterns, charge sizes, and timing sequences optimized for various rock types, structures, and project objectives.
- Select appropriate Biafo explosives (e.g., Tovex® water gel, ANFO) and blasting accessories (detonators, relays, safety fuse) for each application.
- Lead field blast planning and execution, including site surveys, drill hole layout, and loading supervision.
- Monitor and control blasting outcomes — fragmentation quality, vibration, air overpressure, flyrock — ensuring safety and minimal environmental impact.
- Ensure compliance with Pakistani regulatory and safety standards for handling, transportation, storage, and use of explosives.
- Provide technical support and training to clients and Biafo staff on blast safety, products, and best practices.
- Analyze blast performance data and recommend improvements in design or methodology.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, risk assessments, permits, and documentation required for projects and internal records.
- Collaborate with sales and technical services teams to support customer requirements and solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s / Master's degree in Mining Engineering .
- Valid blasting certification/license (or eligibility) as required under Pakistani safety/explosives regulations.
- Strong understanding of explosives theory, blast mechanics, initiation systems, and rock fragmentation.
- Practical experience in blast design and vibration/overpressure control techniques.
- Proficiency with professional blast design and monitoring software is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience
- 3+ years’ experience in blasting operations, ideally within mining, construction, or seismic sectors.
- Familiarity with Biafo product lines (Tovex® and accessory systems) and commercial blasting standards.
- Experience working with vibration monitoring instrumentation and post-blast analysis.
