Shift: 5:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• 3 months of Epic experience is required.

• ADN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Iowa license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• COVID booster required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

An interview with the unit manager may not be available prior to offer. If you do not interview with the unit manager, you may interview with a third-party clinical nurse manager.

Required Skills/Experience:

Ability to work independently in Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and Med/Surg.
Previous charge nurse experience required; ability to work in charge nurse capacity as back-up.

Special Requests:

Blocked scheduling will be considered, but not all weeks can be guaranteed as blocked.

Unit Details:

Critical access hospital setting.
Nurse-to-patient ratios: OB: 1:1 active labor, 1:2 early labor, postpartum couplets up to 1:3 (1:3 is a rare occurrence); Med/Surg: up to 1:5, typical 1:3-4.

Shift & Scheduling:

Every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation.
On-call only if agreeable due to low census; call back only in emergency situations.

Floating Requirements:

Must be able to float between Med/Surg and OB; would float to Med/Surg as helping hands if OB is closed.

9 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 3 years

1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months

Proof of identification required

Certifications:

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program – 8th Edition)

• Intermediate AWHONN FHM (Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring) or the alternative certification Advanced AWHONN FHM

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
