Role Description

The Ocean Transportation Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Erlanger, KY. This position manages day-to-day ocean freight operations, including coordinating bookings with carriers, monitoring shipment status, and ensuring accurate documentation for exports and imports. The specialist communicates regularly with customers, vendors, and partners to provide updates, resolve issues, and deliver high-quality service. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing bills of lading and other shipping documents, complying with international regulations, and working with internal teams to optimize routing, transit times, and costs. The role also involves troubleshooting delays, tracking performance, and contributing to continuous process improvements in ocean transportation and freight forwarding activities.

Qualifications

Demonstrated skills in Freight Transportation and ocean shipping operations.

Strong Customer Service abilities, including clear communication and relationship management.

Experience with Export processes, documentation, and regulatory compliance.

Knowledge of Import Export regulations and best practices.

Background in Freight Forwarding, carrier coordination, and logistics planning.

Attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.

Proficiency with transportation management systems and common office software.

Ability to work on-site in Erlanger, KY and collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Prior experience in international logistics or transportation; industry certifications are a plus.
