Center Point Aviation Law · Mercer Island, Washington
demonstrated ability
We are looking for an unusually capable person who lives in the Seattle area.
This isn't a traditional Executive Assistant position — and it's not quite an Office
Manager, Chief of Staff, or Personal Assistant role either. Over 18 years, it has evolved
into a combination of these things, making it a challenging, but rewarding, job.
I run a law firm. I'm an involved father of three. I am an active participant in running my
household with a partner who also works. Yet I need to bill enough hours to support my
life, while protecting my health and continuing to grow the firm.
Your job is to help make that work — stepping into my life, creating order out of
competing priorities, anticipating problems before they become problems, keeping
projects moving, protecting my time, and making me more effective. The goal: I bill more
hours and accomplish more, without sacrificing my health, my family, or the rest of my
life.
What you would be doing
The specifics will vary, because the point of this job is to make my dynamic life and work
Manage and prioritize a constantly changing calendar with competing
commitments
Set me up for my day with a prioritized plan
Put me where I need to be, with the preparation I need, when I need to be there
Keep track of and organize details and deadlines
Manage communications and correspondence
Coordinate with our team and outside professionals
Handle personal tasks
Who this is for
You might be a traditional executive assistant, an experienced office manager, a chief-
of-staff, a highly organized project manager, or someone whose last job title doesn't
really capture what you're capable of.
You should be:
Smart, with strong common sense
Capable to look at a messy situation and think, “okay, here's what we need to do."
A clear, sharp writer and communicator — you type well and can put together a
coherent sentence
Able to juggle competing priorities and a high volume of information without
getting overwhelmed
A self-starter — someone who notices what needs doing and does it, rather than
waiting to be told, and who figures things out instead of waiting for training.
A sense of humor helps. You don't have to be as funny as I think I am.
Where we work
We currently work primarily from home, though we're seriously considering moving to a
hybrid office in Seattle or Bellevue within the next year. You must live in the Seattle area
and have a car — the job requires local driving, errands, and meeting me on Mercer
Island.
Is this you?
If you want a job where you complete an assigned task list and go home, this probably
isn't it. If you want meaningful responsibility, and the chance to become genuinely
indispensable — both professionally and personally — I'd like to hear from you.
