Ashton North LLC · Manassas, Virginia
Senior Construction Project Manager
Virginia Contractor Qualified Individual | CBC & EMC
Manassas, Virginia | On-Site | Direct Hire
Salary: $140,000 to $160,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience
About the Opportunity
Ashton North is partnering with a growing construction technology organization supporting major data center infrastructure projects in Northern Virginia.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager who brings a combination of commercial construction leadership, industrial equipment installation experience, and familiarity with Virginia Class A contractor licensing requirements.
A critical component of this position is the ability to serve as the company's Qualified Individual for both Commercial Building Contracting (CBC) and Equipment/Machinery Contracting (EMC).
This is an opportunity for an established construction professional who enjoys being involved in project execution, coordinating field operations, and contributing their technical and regulatory knowledge without carrying full responsibility for the overall program.
The position reports to the VP of Programs and Delivery and works closely with existing construction leadership on a major data center infrastructure project in Manassas.
What You'll Be Doing
Serve as the company's Qualified Individual for the required Virginia contractor classifications, subject to DPOR approval.
Support daily construction project management and operational coordination.
Work alongside the construction superintendent and project leadership team.
Coordinate site logistics, construction activities, and equipment installation requirements.
Assist with project schedules, subcontractor coordination, and operational planning.
Support permitting, inspections, contractor licensing compliance, and construction documentation.
Review construction drawings, installation specifications, and project requirements.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, field teams, and customer representatives.
Support project reporting, quality control, and execution of assigned workstreams.
Help maintain consistent communication between field operations and program leadership.
Required
Current Virginia residency.
Ability to work full-time on-site in Manassas.
Verifiable qualifying experience in both commercial building construction and industrial equipment/machinery installation.
Ability to satisfy Virginia DPOR requirements to serve as a Qualified Individual for CBC and EMC.
Knowledge of Virginia construction permitting, inspections, and contractor licensing.
OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
Virginia Licensing
Candidates who have previously passed the Virginia CBC and EMC technical examinations, or the accepted NASCLA alternative for CBC, will receive priority consideration.
Previous experience serving as a Qualified Individual for a Virginia Class A contractor is highly desirable.
Candidates must be able to document their qualifications and satisfy all applicable requirements for designation on the employer's contractor license.
Previous Virginia Class A contractor Qualified Individual designation.
Commercial construction project management.
Industrial machinery installation, millwright, rigging, or equipment installation oversight.
Data center or mission-critical construction.
Experience coordinating large construction projects with multiple subcontractors.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This position offers the opportunity to apply years of construction experience and licensing knowledge to a major infrastructure project while working within an established project leadership team.
You will have meaningful operational responsibilities, direct involvement in project execution, and the ability to contribute your expertise without being expected to manage the entire program independently.
For the right construction professional, it provides a combination of competitive compensation, defined responsibilities, and involvement in a growing segment of the construction industry.
