Veterinary Technician Nutley Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our established, close-knit team! Since 1970, Nutley Animal Hospital has proudly provided compassionate small animal veterinary care to families throughout Northern New Jersey. We're more than just a veterinary hospital. What You'll Do: As a Veterinary Technician, you'll play an important role in supporting our veterinarians and delivering high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include:
Perform venipuncture and collect blood samples for diagnostic testing. Place intravenous catheters (IVCs). Assist veterinarians with surgical procedures and anesthesia monitoring. Obtain patient histories and assist with physical examinations. Monitor patients and provide compassionate care throughout their visits. Prepare and administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Perform routine veterinary technician duties, including laboratory work and diagnostic procedures. Communicate effectively with veterinarians, teammates, and clients. Maintain accurate medical records and follow appropriate patient care protocols.
What We're Looking For:
Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVT) or experienced Veterinary Technicians are encouraged to apply. Previous hands-on experience in a small animal veterinary hospital or general practice. Confident with blood draws, venipuncture, and IV catheter placement. Experience assisting with surgery and anesthesia. Strong technical skills and the ability to work independently while knowing when to ask questions. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. A compassionate, patient-focused approach to veterinary medicine. Someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys building relationships with clients and their pets.
