About the Company

A private equity-backed manufacturing company is seeking an experienced

Financial Controller

to join its growing finance leadership team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a high-impact opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in building strong financial controls, improving processes, and supporting strategic growth across a multi-entity organization.

Key

Responsibilities

Lead the review and approval of vendor invoices, expense reports, payroll, and payment runs

Serve as the primary control point for ACH, wire, and check disbursements

Protect the business from payment fraud through strong vendor onboarding and master data governance

Design, document, and continuously improve finance processes across procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, payroll oversight, and month-end close

Own and strengthen the internal control framework, including approval matrices, segregation of duties, and payment controls

Oversee month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting deliverables

Develop meaningful financial reports and KPIs for executive leadership

Support budgeting, forecasting, working capital management, external audits, tax filings, and lender reporting

Mentor and develop the accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred

8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including Controller-level experience within a manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls

Proven experience reviewing and approving payments, payroll, and expenditures within a multi-entity or mid-sized organization

Demonstrated success improving finance processes and implementing scalable controls

Experience with ERP systems, treasury management platforms, ACH controls, and positive pay systems

Experience in a private equity-backed or high-growth environment is highly desirable

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Must reside within commuting distance of Kearny/Totowa, NJ or Ogden, UT and possess permanent U.S. work authorization
