Role Type:

Full-time, permanant position with Susonity.

Scope : The Process Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to the Mica Pigment Plant. Emphasis is placed on collecting and utilizing data to drive decisions. Primary responsibilities include independent work in troubleshooting production processes, line equipment, and raw materials to help identify root causes for poor quality of finished pigment and production failures. Responsibilities also include identifying opportunities to improve profitability. The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting operational excellence through continuous improvement which includes CAPEX scoping and support of implementation, Best Practice Sharing, leading Lean & Six Sigma Projects, and participation within the Continuous Improvement community. The daily work environment is a combination of lab work as well as the production facility. Operational responsibilities also include compliance with and implementation of all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.

Responsibilities

Areas of responsibility include all of Mica Pigment production.

Drive quality through campaign steering including mica prep, coating, finishing and B&P guidance and troubleshooting.

Identify and provide scope, justification, and process support for CAPEX project development and implementation.

Support the management system by being responsible for, and ensuring their area of responsibility is documenting and complying with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Management of Change (MOC), Notification of Change (NOC), Customer Complaints, Corrective/Preventative Actions, and other required activities.

Collaborate with local and regional business partners to direct activities in procurement, finance, logistics, supply network planning, regulatory and human resources.

Drive innovation through operational excellence including process improvement strategies, cost efficiencies, and new technologies. Align within the Operational

Excellence community for BPS, product transfers, and continuous improvement to drive cost control and quality improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.

Experience in troubleshooting and data analysis.

Proficiency in typical computer hardware and software.

Preferred Qualifications

Process engineering experience in chemical manufacturing for at least 5-10 years.

Lean & Six Sigma experience.

Visual acuity

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk and sit for extended periods of time.

Ability to wear any Personal Protective Equipment as required.

Ability to work safely in a chemical manufacturing environment.
