Job Description

We are working on behalf of a well-established 24/7 emergency and general practice hospital in Doral, FL, serving the greater Miami area, that is looking to welcome an experienced Emergency Veterinarian to its team.

For more than 25 years, this hospital has been a trusted part of the South Florida community, combining advanced medicine, compassionate care, and a genuinely collaborative culture. This is a true emergency medicine role with a varied and rewarding caseload, including GDVs, splenectomies, pyometras, trauma, urinary obstructions, toxicities, and respiratory and endocrine emergencies, all supported by digital radiology and point-of-care ultrasound. You will have the autonomy to make your own medical decisions, with experienced doctors and a collaborative Medical Director on hand whenever you want a second opinion. Each doctor is supported by two dedicated technicians or assistants, so you can stay focused on the medicine.

The schedule has been built with sustainability in mind: 12 to 14 shifts per month on a rotation designed to avoid frequent switching between days and nights, giving you real time to recharge. Ongoing development is a priority here, with annual FAST ultrasound training, dentistry training with a board-certified veterinary dentist, leadership development programs, and clear pathways toward Medical Director for those who want them. As part of a wider South Florida hospital network, you will also have strong referral and speciality support close at hand.

About You

DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US

You hold, or are eligible for, licensure in Florida

Experienced in small animal emergency medicine and comfortable stabilising critical patients

Confident performing emergency soft tissue surgery

Calm, compassionate communicator with clients in urgent situations

Collaborative team player who enjoys learning and growing professionally
