Compensation:

$120,000–$140,000 Base + 10% Bonus

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing, well-established manufacturing and distribution company in Palm Beach County to hire an

Assistant Controller . This is a newly created position due to continued growth and expansion, offering the opportunity to join an established accounting team and take ownership of key accounting functions.

We're looking for someone with a strong technical accounting foundation, hands-on experience with month-end close and financial reporting, and previous experience leading accounting staff. Candidates coming from manufacturing or distribution environments, particularly those with exposure to cost accounting and inventory, are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Manage and mentor accounting staff while ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

Support cost accounting activities, including inventory accounting, standard costing, and material, labor, and overhead variance analysis.

Oversee inventory reconciliations, valuation, adjustments, and physical inventory processes.

Partner with operations and other departments to investigate variances and improve accounting processes.

Support fixed asset accounting, accruals, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.

Assist with strengthening internal controls, accounting procedures, and reporting processes.

Support continued business growth, process improvements, and other accounting initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.

8+ years of progressive accounting experience.

Minimum 2 years of supervisory or accounting management experience.

Strong hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.

Manufacturing or distribution industry experience strongly preferred.

Exposure to cost accounting, inventory management, and variance analysis highly preferred.

Experience working in a mid-sized to large organization with complex accounting operations.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

CPA or Master's degree in Accounting is a plus.
