Accounting Manager
West Palm Beach, FL Hybrid (4 days in office, Fridays remote)
Overview
A publicly traded, acquisitive organization is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead its consolidation and financial close processes. This role oversees intercompany accounting, consolidations and related reporting, manages a team of two, and partners with operating companies and cross-functional teams to resolve complex accounting matters. The company is in the middle of an SAP S/4HANA implementation, has more acquisitions planned, and is significantly growing its West Palm Beach finance team, which creates real visibility and room for growth.
Responsibilities
Lead, develop and review the work of a team of two accounting professionals
Partner with operating companies on the timely submission of monthly financial results, serving as the main point of contact for questions and issue resolution
Review and post adjusting journal entries
Review and compile the month-end close binder and supporting documentation, including accounting memos, to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting policies and controls
Manage annual goodwill impairment testing, including evaluation of market conditions and coordination with operating companies on projections
Assist with accounting for business combinations, including purchase price allocations and valuation of intangible assets
Research technical accounting guidance and prepare memos documenting GAAP conclusions
Identify and execute process improvement projects
Support the SAP S/4HANA implementation and internal control initiatives
Assist with due diligence on potential acquisitions and other special projects
Occasional weekend work during peak close periods
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
6+ years of accounting experience, with public accounting or a combination of public and industry preferred; candidates with industry-only experience at a large, complex organization will be considered
Direct people management experience required
CPA strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of US GAAP; consolidations, intercompany and close experience
Advanced Excel skills
Compensation
$130,000 to $150,000 base plus 12.5% annual bonus target, with a full benefits package including 401(k) match, employee stock purchase plan and education reimbursement.
