Coda Search has partnered with a Series C consumer goods company based in Brooklyn, New York. The organization has quickly broadened its footprint throughout the United States and continues to expand across numerous locations. As a member of a five-person accounting team, this individual will play a central role in leading the monthly close, managing intercompany activity, refining processes, and driving efficiencies throughout the organization. Because an external accounting partner handles certain cash management responsibilities, this position will concentrate on balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Support and lead the monthly close, including reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts
Review financial statements and conduct variance analysis accompanied by explanatory commentary
Oversee general ledger reconciliations and record journal entries
Record and reconcile intercompany activity among the company’s entities
Prepare and evaluate cost of goods sold and associated expenses
Facilitate accounting integration as the company opens new locations
Direct special initiatives throughout the organization, pinpointing ways to strengthen processes and procedures
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of three years of accounting experience (background in consumer goods, CPG, or a high-growth startup is advantageous)
Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a results-driven mindset
Effective communicator and collaborative colleague who excels in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
