About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Construction Estimator / Quantity Surveyor / Civil Engineer to perform detailed material takeoffs for US residential construction projects , primarily covering foundation and framing.
You will use Plankore to review US residential blueprints and produce accurate, procurement-ready material takeoffs that customers can use to order materials directly.
Each project must be completed within a 36-hour turnaround time .
Responsibilities
- Use Plankore to perform detailed material takeoffs from US residential blueprints.
- Review and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Perform foundation and framing takeoffs, including concrete, rebar, footings, slabs, foundation walls, lumber, sheathing, joists, rafters, trusses, beams, headers, posts, hardware, and other required materials.
- Provide detailed material specifications including size, dimensions, grade/type, quantity, and unit.
- Cross-reference plans, elevations, sections, structural details, and schedules to ensure completeness.
- Identify discrepancies, missing information, and assumptions that may affect quantities.
- Perform QA/QC before submitting completed takeoffs.
- Consistently meet the 36-hour turnaround requirement .
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in construction estimating, quantity surveying, civil/structural engineering, or a related field.
- Degree from a top-tier university in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- GPA of 7.5/10 or equivalent .
- Strong experience reading and interpreting residential construction blueprints .
- Hands-on experience performing construction material takeoffs.
- Strong understanding of residential foundation and framing construction .
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Ability to work independently and consistently meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness to use Plankore as the primary takeoff platform .
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with US blueprint standards, construction practices, and terminology .
- Experience with US lumber sizes, concrete/rebar, structural hardware, and other residential construction materials.
- Experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, STACK, On-Screen Takeoff, CostX, or similar tools.
- Experience working with US contractors, builders, architects, or engineering firms.
Work Arrangement & Compensation
- Hourly contract with flexible working hours.
- Hours are tracked using our time-tracking system .
- Required overlap with the US team:
- Vietnam: approximately 9:00 PM – 1:00/2:00 AM
- Pakistan: approximately 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM/midnight
- Work hours outside the required overlap can generally be scheduled flexibly.
- Hours worked beyond 8 hours in a single day are paid at a 20% higher hourly rate.
- Compensation equivalent to approximately $800–1.5k per month , depending on experience, qualifications, and performance.
