Job Description

We are partnering with a rapidly growing, multi-entity organization seeking an experienced

Controller

to lead day-to-day accounting operations and help strengthen the accounting infrastructure as the business continues to scale.

This is an ideal opportunity for a

seasoned, hands-on accounting leader

who enjoys building, improving, and solving. The right person will be comfortable leading a team while staying close to the details, partnering across the business, and bringing structure to a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

What You’ll Do

Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including

general ledger, AP, AR, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting

Oversee accounting across a

complex, multi-entity organization

, including consolidations and intercompany activity

Manage, mentor, and develop accounting professionals while remaining technically involved

Lead the

external audit process

, including schedules, requests, and resolution of accounting matters

Strengthen

internal controls, SOPs, and accounting processes

as the organization continues to grow

Identify opportunities to improve the close process, automate workflows, and increase efficiency

Support

ERP implementations, system integrations, and accounting automation initiatives

Partner closely with operations, payroll, purchasing, and other business functions to resolve issues and improve processes

Support an evolving organization with acquisitions, integrations, and increasing accounting complexity

What We’re Looking For

Approximately

15+ years of progressive accounting experience

Previous experience as a

Controller, Assistant Controller, Senior Accounting Manager

, or similar accounting leader

Deep, hands-on knowledge of accounting operations, including the

general ledger and month-end close

Hands-on

lease accounting experience, including working knowledge of ASC 842

and experience managing lease accounting either manually or through lease accounting software

Strong experience working within

multi-entity and complex accounting environments

Proven success leading and developing accounting teams

Experience managing external audits

Demonstrated ability to

build, improve, or clean up accounting processes

Strong ERP and accounting systems experience

Ability to understand and explain how transactions flow through accounting systems

Comfortable balancing technical accounting requirements with practical business needs

Preferred Background

Experience within one or more of the following environments is especially relevant

Private equity-backed organizations

Acquisition-driven or rapidly scaling companies

Multi-location service businesses

Construction or field services

Manufacturing or distribution

Franchise or decentralized operating environments
