Common Employment and Process Details
Work arrangement: Hybrid; fully remote work is not available.
Location hubs: New York City, New York (NY); San Francisco Bay Area, California (CA); Dallas, Texas (TX); Chicago, Illinois (IL).
Travel: Approximately 25% when required.
Employment: Full-time direct employment
Compensation guidance: USD $150,000–$200,000 base salary; flexibility up to $220,000 may be considered for exceptional candidates, subject to approval. Compensation outside this range requires individual review and is not guaranteed.
Forward Deployed Engineer – Agentic AI
Role overview:
A hands-on, client-facing engineer who designs, builds, integrates, evaluates and deploys agentic AI solutions in enterprise environments. The role requires strong software engineering and the ability to turn real business or operational needs into working solutions.
Key
Work directly with customers and stakeholders to understand workflows, constraints and technical requirements.
Build and deploy LLM-powered applications and agentic workflows, including tool/API integrations and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
Integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems, APIs, data sources and cloud services.
Evaluate solution quality, reliability, security, latency and cost; iterate based on testing and user feedback.
Support production deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting and ongoing improvement.
Typically 8+ years of relevant software engineering, architecture or technical consulting experience, including client-facing delivery.
Practical experience with LLM applications, agentic AI patterns, RAG and MCP/tool/API integrations.
Experience with enterprise integrations, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP, and production software delivery.
Familiarity with CI/CD, containers, observability and secure, reliable deployment practices.
Experience with planning/execution, tool calling, memory, embeddings, vector databases or retrieval evaluation.
Experience balancing quality, reliability, security, human oversight, latency and operating cost.
What Candidates Should Be Able to Demonstrate
A specific example of an AI solution personally designed or coded, including the candidate’s individual contribution.
Which LLM/agent framework, tools, APIs, data sources and cloud services were used.
How the solution was evaluated, deployed and monitored, and what measurable outcome or operational improvement resulted.
