Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Travel experience is required.
• Experience with Epic is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 24 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as a traveler at a facility in this program in the last 24 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.
Pre-employment modules may be required for this role. Please upload any certifications or health documents you have to your profile to expedite your on-boarding process.
Additional Details:
Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.
Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.
Required Skills/Experience:
Strong knowledge of Med-Surg, infectious disease, isolation precautions, etc. is required.
Special Requests:
Block scheduling is allowed as long as the needs of the unit are met.
Unit Details:
Patient ratios are 1:5-6, or 1:4 for COVID patients.
Patients include any and all infectious disease and isolation cases, including COVID, MRSA, and C. diff.
All rooms are private due to infectious diseases.
The unit has no cardiac drips.
Common drips include heparin and other typical Med-Surg IV medications and antibiotics.
The unit has no ventilators; patients may use CPAP, BiPAP, or high-flow oxygen managed by respiratory therapy.
Remote telemetry is provided from the third floor, with monitors at the desk; RNs do not need to read or interpret strips.
Shift & Scheduling:
Travelers will be scheduled where they are needed.
Every other weekend is required; night weekend shifts are Fri/Sat/Sun.
Holidays will depend on the needs of the unit. If there is not enough permanent staff to cover holidays, travelers would be expected to work holidays.
Floating Requirements:
Travelers are the first to float. Floating is required to any Med-Surg units. If floated to Tele, they would be assigned patients within their skill set.
14 days maximum time off
1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years
Driver's license required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
