Job Description

ISSI, a machine shop and engineering firm on the southwest side of Indianapolis, is looking for a lead machinist and programmer to join our team.

This is a unique opportunity to program parts in Siemens NX CAM and machine them across a variety of large and small CNC machines. The programming and machining work will range from simple and small parts, all the way up to large assemblies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. As the lead machining, providing technical support and training for other machinists is a large part of the job.

2. For the CAM programming side, the responsibilities include processing the job and creating CAM programs for CNC lathes and 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC mills using Siemens NX.

3. For the machining side, the responsibilities include setting up the machine, proving the program out, and performing a FAIR. In some cases, the job will be handed off to another machinist and in other cases, the responsibility will be to complete the rest of the job.

4. Foster a positive and productive work environment.

5. Enforce quality control measures to ensure the parts meet print specifications.

6. Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Job Requirements

1. Minimum 5 years of machining experience.

2. Minimum of 5 years of programming using CAM software.

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

4. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively

5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
