Accounting Integration Consultant (M&A / Systems Migration)

Position Summary
Randstad is partnering with a rapidly growing regional company in Knoxville, TN
to lead a critical post-acquisition accounting integration and system migration.
We are seeking a hands-on, highly autonomous Senior Accounting Integration Consultant
to serve as the key bridge between legacy operations and modern ERP architecture. Working directly on-site alongside branch leadership and seller personnel, you will lead the clean-up, reconciliation, and cutover of historical records from an IBM AS/400
environment into Oracle NetSuite
and ServiceTitan .
This is a high-visibility project requiring equal parts technical accounting expertise, forensic ledger clean-up, system mapping savvy, and interpersonal tact.
Key Project Scope & Responsibilities
Legacy Data & Subledger Mapping:
Extract and review legacy AS/400
data exports and physical paper records to build out clean customer master accounts; link and reconcile unlinked subledger activity back to proper accounts.
Billing Cutover & Cash Reconciliations:
Reconcile historical cash-basis billing activity and assist operational teams with cutover alignment into NetSuite
and ServiceTitan .
AP & Purchasing Workflow Transition:
Lead the operational shift away from straight-costing vendor disbursements into formal NetSuite Purchase Orders (POs) to establish accurate inventory and job-costing tracking.
Audit-Ready Workpaper Construction:
Build clear, defensible Balance Sheet and P&L frameworks from raw source documents to support GAAP conversion and prepare the business for an upcoming external audit review by Plante Moran.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner directly with seller accounting staff, local branch managers, and corporate IT teams with urgency, persistence, and discretion to drive milestones forward.
Qualifications & Key Requirements
Experience Level:
7+ years of progressive accounting experience as a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Project Consultant.
Systems Architecture:
Heavy exposure to Oracle NetSuite
(GL setup, chart-of-accounts mapping, PO workflow creation).
Direct experience extracting, mapping, or handling data from legacy ERPs (specifically IBM AS/400
or legacy mainframes) and ServiceTitan
is strongly preferred.
Core Technical Competencies:
Full-cycle GAAP conversion, subledger-to-GL reconciliations, purchase order implementation, and audit workpaper preparation.
Problem-Solving Style:
Strong forensic accounting capabilities—comfortable digging through paper documentation, unorganized ledger entries, and legacy database dumps.
Location & Presence:
100% on-site availability in Knoxville, TN
(5 days/week) for the duration of the engagement.
