We’re seeking a detail-oriented, analytical

Senior Accountant

to join our client's collaborative Accounting team in

Springfield, Missouri . In this role, you’ll support the financial operations of a large

employee-owned (ESOP)

staffing organization by maintaining accurate financial records, supporting close and reporting, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and controls. This is a team-first environment—cross-training and stepping in to support one another is part of the culture.

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

What You’ll Do

This role supports day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close processes, with exposure across branch operations.

Core

Responsibilities

Prepare and post journal entries for month-end and year-end close

Complete account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

Assist with monthly financial statements and supporting schedules

Analyze financial data and build reports for management review

Support annual audits and regulatory reporting requirements

Review Accounts Payable check runs and verify payment accuracy

Assist with bank reconciliations, cash management, and fixed asset accounting

Maintain accurate financial records and documentation

Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and internal controls

Partner with payroll, HR, and branch operations to resolve accounting questions/issues

Payroll (support/backup coverage)

Day-to-day payroll processing, tax filings, and W-2s are handled by the payroll team

This role builds working knowledge of payroll to provide backup coverage, help answer payroll-related questions, and assist during year-end peak periods

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)

3+ years of progressive accounting experience (preferred)

Advanced Excel skills (required): formulas, Pivot Tables, and data analysis

Exposure to payroll accounting, financial reporting, or multi-location operations is a plus

Strong attention to detail, judgment, and confidentiality

Able to manage multiple priorities; proactive communicator and collaborator
