Job Summary
Independently manages regulatory compliance for U.S. retirement (DB/DC), VEBA, and Health & Welfare Benefit Plans. Responsible for preparation and coordination of all required filings (e.g., IRS Form 5500, SEC Form 11-K, IRS Forms 1094 B/C and 1095 B/C, state disability filings) and ensuring adherence to ERISA and related regulatory requirements. Works cross-functionally to maintain compliance, mitigate risk, and ensure audit readiness and completeness.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the preparation, coordination, and submission of IRS Form 5500 filings (including schedules) across all benefit plans
Support SEC Form 11-K filings and ensure alignment with financial disclosures
Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, DOL, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, state disability regulations
Maintain and update Summary Plan Descriptions, ACA Summary of Benefits and Coverage, and required disclosures
Monitor regulatory changes and implement updates to policies, processes, and documentation
Maintain a compliance calendar to track regulatory deadlines and deliverables
Partner with TPAs, auditors, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely submissions
Support internal and external audits; manage findings and remediation activities
Analyze and validate plan data to ensure integrity across filings and documentation
Drive process improvements and compliance reporting metrics
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business
3+ years of experience in Accounting and Auditing (preferably experience with public company financial statements)
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with high accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in benefits compliance, ERISA, or retirement/health & welfare plans
Familiarity with ACA reporting (IRS Forms 1094 B/C and 1095 B/C)
