Registered Behavior Technician Make a difference supporting a high school student in a rewarding, one-on-one environment as a Registered Behavior Technician. This contract role offers the unique opportunity to provide individualized assistance to a student with Down syndrome, helping foster growth, independence, and confidence throughout the school day. Qualifications/Desired
Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) required Experience working in schools or with high school-aged students preferred Familiarity with students who have Down syndrome or intellectual disabilities is a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with educators, therapists, and families Patience, reliability, and compassion are essential Ability to implement behavior intervention plans and collect data accurately
Key Responsibilities:
Support a high school student with Down syndrome on a 1:1 basis throughout the school day Implement individualized behavioral and academic support plans under the supervision of a BCBA or special education team Assist with classroom participation, transitions, and activities to promote inclusion and learning Collect and record data on student progress and behavior outcomes Communicate regularly and effectively with the educational team and student's family as needed Help foster a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment
