Why this role matters

We are a U.S. immigration law firm committed to changing as many immigrants' lives as possible through exceptional legal representation and an outstanding client experience. Our CEO leads the firm across offices in North Carolina, Michigan, and Mexico. She moves fast, thinks out loud, and often names the outcome she wants without the steps or the deadline. Some days her priorities change several times; other days she is in meetings and hard to reach. She needs one person who catches what she says, fills in what she did not, follows up until it is done, and keeps her business and personal affairs completely private.

What you will do

Start each day by giving her a clear picture of her day and what needs her attention

Capture what she asks for in meetings and in passing, then confirm the list and the deadlines with her

Ask for deadlines she does not give, and think through the steps behind the outcomes she describes

Follow up until things are done: a second email, a text, or a call when needed

Get information she needs from leaders across the firm, and follow up on meetings she misses, without sharing her business

Re-sort her day when priorities change, and let the people affected know

Handle personal and household matters, such as vendors, repairs, and family travel, and travel with her about four or five times a year

What you bring

5 or more years supporting a CEO, business owner, or senior executive

Experience in a fast-moving role where priorities changed often

A record of handling confidential business and personal information, including personal or household matters

Strong skills with calendar, email, and task tools [confirm the firm’s tools: Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace]

Availability on site in Charlotte on fixed hours, for about four or five trips a year of three to four days each, and for occasional evening or weekend tasks planned in advance

Legal experience is welcome but not required
