Position Overview

Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Housekeeping Manager

to oversee daily Housekeeping operations while maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, organization, and guest satisfaction consistent with Forbes Five-Star service standards.

This leadership role is responsible for managing daily housekeeping assignments, supervising and developing team members, conducting quality inspections, ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety standards, and supporting seamless hotel operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on hospitality leader with strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding luxury guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to Housekeeping team members while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Oversee daily Housekeeping operations, ensuring the timely completion of room cleaning assignments and departmental objectives.
Distribute and delegate guest room cleaning assignments and daily responsibilities to Housekeeping team members.
Interview, select, train, supervise, coach, and evaluate Housekeeping team members.
Conduct regular guest room inspections to ensure compliance with hotel cleanliness standards and Forbes Five-Star service expectations.
Monitor team performance, provide ongoing coaching and counseling, and conduct performance evaluations as needed.
Plan and conduct departmental meetings to promote open communication, operational efficiency, and team engagement.
Attend operational and leadership meetings to obtain and communicate pertinent information to Housekeeping team members.
Ensure Housekeeping team members have the necessary supplies, equipment, and tools to complete daily responsibilities efficiently.
Monitor compliance with sanitation requirements, proper chemical handling procedures, and the Hazard Communication (HazCom) program.
Collaborate with hotel departments to coordinate Housekeeping services and ensure seamless daily operations.
Respond promptly to guest requests and concerns while maintaining exceptional service standards.
Maintain effective communication with associates, vendors, contractors, and other hotel departments.
Exercise independent judgment to resolve operational challenges and support overall guest satisfaction.
Participate in the Lobby Greeter and Manager on Duty programs, including weekend coverage and overnight stays when assigned.
Monitor hotel operations during assigned Manager on Duty shifts and assist with troubleshooting operational or guest-related concerns.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

· College degree preferred, with an emphasis in Hospitality or a related field.

Experience

Minimum of three years of supervisory or management experience within hotel Housekeeping operations.

· Previous experience at a Forbes-rated luxury hotel is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong knowledge of hotel Housekeeping operations, cleanliness standards, and sanitation procedures.
Understanding of basic sanitation requirements, chemical applications, and safe handling procedures.

· Excellent leadership, organizational, and supervisory skills.

Proven ability to train, coach, motivate, and develop Housekeeping team members.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain consistent quality and cleanliness standards.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate responsibilities to meet operational deadlines.
Strong mathematical skills with the ability to perform calculations related to departmental operations and financial reporting.
Proficiency in using hotel computer systems to accurately access, enter, and manage operational information.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests, associates, vendors, and contractors.
Ability to communicate effectively in English and prepare necessary reports and departmental documentation.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment.
Ability to coordinate effectively with other hotel departments to support operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Ability to remain organized and composed while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.

Physical

Requirements

This position requires frequent walking, climbing stairs, crouching, bending, and stooping, as well as occasional reaching, grasping, and lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds. The role also requires occasional pushing and pulling, along with strong visual, hearing, and verbal communication abilities to effectively perform Housekeeping responsibilities.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing certain duties. The hotel will provide necessary PPE and training on its proper use and care. Associates are responsible for reporting any damaged, defective, lost, or improperly fitting equipment to management.

Grooming Standards
