The Recruits Wright Group has been engaged to identify an experienced

Bursar

for The College of Westchester, an established, Middle States regionally accredited institution serving approximately 1,100 students in White Plains, New York.

We are looking for a hands-on professional who understands the operational side of student accounts and enjoys working directly with students, families, and campus leadership. This is an opportunity for someone who takes pride in accuracy, accountability, problem-solving, and helping students successfully navigate their financial responsibilities.

The Opportunity The Bursar will oversee the College's day-to-day student accounts operations, including tuition billing, accounts receivable, payment processing, reconciliations, refunds, collections, and student financial account resolution.

This is a working leadership position. The successful candidate will remain actively involved in daily operations while providing guidance to a small team and collaborating with Financial Aid, Finance, Admissions, the Registrar, and other campus departments.

What We're Looking For Ideal candidates will bring

Substantial hands-on experience in higher education Bursar operations, Student Accounts, billing, or accounts receivable.

Strong experience managing student balances, payment arrangements, delinquent accounts, collections, and financial reconciliations.

The ability to research and resolve complex student-account issues while communicating effectively with students and families.

Experience using higher education student information systems. Anthology experience is preferred but not required.

Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to provide operational leadership.

A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, higher education administration, or a related field.

Candidates with experience as an Assistant Bursar, Student Accounts Manager, Student Financial Services Manager, or in a comparable higher education financial operations role are encouraged to apply.

Compensation:

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, with a compensation package designed to meet or exceed the competitive market range for comparable positions.
