Position Summary
Virginia Transformer is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and enhance our safety culture and environmental responsibility. This role calls for a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of OSHA requirements, regulatory compliance, and the leadership skills to foster a safe work environment.
The EHS Manager will design, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive EHS programs that align with company goals and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Key
Develop, implement, and manage EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, ISO 9001:2015, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Conduct risk assessments and EHS audits to identify hazards and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Lead OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 safety training programs to promote safety awareness and compliance.
Champion a culture of safety through open communication, impactful training, and active employee participation in EHS initiatives.
Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans to prevent recurrence and drive continuous improvement.
Monitor, analyze, and report EHS performance metrics; identify trends and implement proactive safety solutions.
Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, external auditors, and stakeholders, and address inspections or inquiries.
Maintain accurate EHS documentation, including records, permits, and licenses, in compliance with regulatory standards.
Collaborate with senior leadership, operations, and HR to integrate EHS practices into operational processes.
Qualifications & Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Business or Engineering degrees are also acceptable.
At least five years of EHS management experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications required.
Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISO 9001:2015, and other applicable EHS regulations.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
Analytical and problem-solving skills to conduct risk assessments and develop effective EHS strategies.
Proficiency with EHS management systems, databases, and related software.
Ability to travel to company locations as needed.
