Our Client is seeking a reliable and attentive Direct Support Professional to provide support and instruction to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities within a group & residential homes in the Brooklyn area. To include following areas: Flushing, Woodhaven, Flatbush, Springfield Gardens, and all of Brooklyn & Queens. Compensation rate: $19-$20 per hour CLIENTS AVAILABLE HOURS Assorted shifts available for part time and full schedule. Weekends are available. Must be able work some weekends. SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY *Promote and support the inclusion of individuals in their community according to their unique needs, interests, and desires. *Promote intellectual, emotional, and social growth. *Ensure all activities are designed to foster growth to each individual's highest level of accomplishment. *Ensure all care and services are delivered in a climate of normalization, care and concern. *Report all incidents to program management immediately. *Actively engage in all program services, such as toileting, showering, community inclusion, emergencies, meal prep, and physical plant cleanliness as needed and required. *Clean as frequently and thoroughly as necessary to meet program cleanliness standards. *Undertake any additional tasks and initiatives within the scope of the role as per the specific needs of the programs and individuals and as assigned by supervisor. CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE *Valid Driver's License (not required but helpful) *Ability to complete and pass mandated clearances. *Must be comfortable toileting. *Must be able to work in mixed functioning group homes. *One year or relevant experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, preferred not required. CLIENTS REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
*CPR or BLS *First Aid *TB (Tuberculosis) *Establish a relationship with one of the largest referral agencies for behavioral-health. *Compensation processed on a weekly basis. *Bonuses and incentives are offered. *Increase or decrease your schedule at your discretion: choose opportunities that best fit your schedule. *Ability to grow professionally.
