Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented
Controller
to oversee accounting operations for a $17 million nonprofit health and human services organization. The Controller will be responsible for financial reporting, general ledger management, internal controls, grant accounting, audit preparation, and supervision of accounting staff.
Key
Manage the monthly and annual financial close, with a 15-day monthly close target.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Oversee general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
Manage grant accounting, cost allocations, and restricted funding.
Maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies.
Coordinate annual financial statement audits and Single Audits, when applicable.
Oversee fixed assets, restricted net asset releases, leases, debt schedules, and other accounting activities.
Supervise, train, and develop accounting personnel.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.
Support the VP of Finance with budgeting, financial analysis, and management reporting.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Advanced Excel and accounting software proficiency.
Preferred:
CPA, nonprofit accounting experience, grant accounting, Single Audit experience, and knowledge of 2 CFR Part 200.
