Exchange Engineer, Exchange, Hybrid M365

Hybrid New York, NY

Our client runs a hybrid Exchange 2019 and Exchange Online environment, and they need a Tier 3 engineer to own it.

This isn’t a generalist sysadmin seat. Mail is the job. You’ll run the hybrid setup, push the move to Microsoft 365 forward, and be the last stop when messaging breaks.

You’ll also work closely with the security team on DLP, encryption and compliance. If you like the security side of email as much as the plumbing, you’ll enjoy this one.

What you’ll do

Manage the hybrid Exchange deployment and migrations to Microsoft 365

Handle Tier 3 messaging incidents and escalations

Automate admin work and reporting in PowerShell

Keep mail highly available: DR, patching, health checks, capacity planning

Watch mail traffic and security logs for threats and anomalies

Partner with security on DLP, encryption and Purview policies

Document configs, procedures and incident fixes

What you need

3+ years managing Exchange, including on-prem 2016 or 2019

Real hybrid experience with Exchange Online

Working knowledge of how Exchange Online ties into Teams and Purview

PowerShell you write yourself, not just scripts you run

SPF, DKIM and DMARC you can troubleshoot from scratch

Solid Active Directory, DNS and networking fundamentals
