A growing heavy civil contractor is adding an experienced

Estimator

to its preconstruction team. This is a key role for someone who knows how to turn drawings, specifications, quantities, and subcontractor pricing into a competitive, accurate bid.

You'll have the opportunity to work on major NYC civil and infrastructure pursuits and play a meaningful role in deciding

which projects the company wins and builds.

What You'll Do

Prepare estimates for heavy civil and infrastructure projects

Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and scopes

Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis

Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing

Solicit and level subcontractor and supplier proposals

Prepare bid summaries and final estimates

Identify scope gaps, risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options

Work closely with Operations and Project Management during pursuit and turnover

What We're Looking For

3+ years

of heavy civil estimating experience

Strong background in utilities, underground, excavation, transportation, water/sewer, or infrastructure

Hands-on HCSS experience required — HeavyBid experience strongly preferred

Strong understanding of civil means & methods, production rates, labor, equipment, and materials

NYC estimating / public works experience strongly preferred

Ability to read and interpret complex civil plans and specifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
