Job Description

We are partnering with a well-established company in South Carolina to hire a

Senior Accountant

. This position will be responsible for overseeing accounting activities, ensuring financial accuracy, leading audit processes, and supporting compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

This individual will play a key role in financial reporting, process improvements, and providing guidance to the accounting team while working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

This is a hybrid role in Georgetown County, South Carolina.

ESSENTIAL

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

Oversee general ledger activities, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting

Lead internal and external audits, including planning, coordination, and issue resolution

Maintain financial documentation and prepare audit support schedules

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Perform account analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis

Support month-end and year-end closing processes

Develop and maintain internal controls to improve financial accuracy and operational efficiency

Review accounting processes and recommend improvements to strengthen controls and reduce risk

Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements

Identify accounting risks and implement corrective actions

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities

Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to management

Mentor and provide guidance to accounting staff

QUALIFICATIONS

CPA is required

5+ years of accounting experience, including audit experience

Experience with ERP and accounting systems

Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls

Experience managing or leading audit engagements

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency
