Geismar, LA Salary Range: $28.00 Position: Warehouse/Materials Description: Chemical Plant Warehouse Specialist Seeking an experienced warehouse professional with hands-on experience working in a chemical plant or industrial plant facility, preferably in shipping and receiving. Must have a strong understanding of industrial parts and equipment, including valves, pumps, gaskets, spare parts, and other plant maintenance materials. Responsibilities include managing inventory, receiving and shipping materials, processing orders, maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating deliveries, operating forklifts and trucks, and ensuring materials are properly stored, labeled, and distributed throughout the plant. Additional duties include working with suppliers and contractors, performing cycle counts, maintaining warehouse safety and housekeeping standards, and using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Must-Have Qualifications:
Previous warehouse experience inside a chemical plant or industrial plant facility. Knowledge of industrial components such as valves, pumps, gaskets, and maintenance spare parts. Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material handling. Forklift operation experience. Strong attention to detail and commitment to plant safety procedures. Lift up to 50lbs. Experience and familiarity with CMMS systems, Oracle or SAP is a plus. Intermediate in Microsoft Suite, etc. Word, Excel Forklift certified Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Working knowledge of audit processes and procedures as they relate to warehouse functions. Creative, flexible, organized, and technically competent. Willingness to work extended hours, particularly during scheduled outages. Ability to work with mathematical concepts, calculators, personal computers, mainframe computer systems, electronic scales, forklifts of various sizes, basic barcode operation Must be capable of working with peers and supervision in preparing information resulting from daily activities. Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational and planning skills, facilitation skills, computer skills, and the ability to achieve results Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
