Job Description

A growing services organization is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to lead its General Ledger and accounting operations function. This is a high-impact leadership role reporting to the SVP of Finance, overseeing a team of four and owning the monthly close, financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting processes. Candidates MUST have public accounting experience

Compensation:

$155,000-$185,000 + benefits

Hybrid (3 days in office)

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals

Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

Review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting activities

Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls

Partner with Finance leadership, auditors, Tax, Treasury, and other stakeholders

Drive process improvements and close optimization initiatives

Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and support business decision-making

Support audits and complex accounting matters

Qualifications

8-15+ years of progressive accounting experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred (or actively pursuing)

Blend of public accounting and private industry experience strongly preferred

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and audit processes

Proven people management and leadership experience

NetSuite experience preferred

Experience working with external auditors and complex accounting transactions
