Senior Project Manager – Healthcare

Location

Charlotte, NC

We’re working with a leading General Contractor looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead healthcare construction projects across the Greater Charlotte region.

This is an opportunity to oversee new construction and renovations within active healthcare environments, including hospitals, specialty clinics, academic medical centers, and research facilities. You’ll take ownership from planning and procurement through construction and closeout, partnering with field leadership and clients to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.

What You’ll Do

Lead project planning, procurement, budgeting, scheduling, and execution from initial setup through final acceptance and closeout.

Develop bidding strategies, define subcontractor scopes, evaluate proposals, and manage subcontract buyout.

Partner with Superintendents to establish site logistics, construction sequencing, staffing plans, and project schedules.

Review construction documents and estimates to identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, and project risks.

Manage project budgets, general conditions, cost forecasting, cash flow, and change orders.

Coordinate MEP systems, BIM coordination, and owner-furnished equipment with field teams, design partners, and trade contractors.

Plan work within active healthcare environments to support safe construction and minimize disruption to ongoing operations.

Lead project meetings and maintain strong communication with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Guide project staff and oversee timely processing of RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.

Partner with field leadership to maintain strong safety and quality standards.

Manage punch-list completion, closeout documentation, and coordination with code officials for final project acceptance.

Support client relationships, repeat business, and proposals for future healthcare projects.

What They’re Looking For

A strong track record as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager with a General Contractor or Construction Manager

6+ years of GC/CM construction management experience

Healthcare construction experience, ideally on projects valued at $10M+

Experience managing project financials, subcontractor procurement, schedules, and change management

Ability to lead project teams and build strong relationships with clients, design partners, and subcontractors

Strong planning, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline

Ability to support projects across the Greater Charlotte region
