Director of Tax Advisory Position Summary

Managing Director of Tax Advisory Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of high-quality, personalized tax advisory and compliance services

Partner with senior leadership to shape the direction and growth of the Tax Advisory practice

Serve as a trusted advisor to entrepreneurial businesses, executives, and high-net-worth individuals

Oversee engagement performance including quality, profitability, and efficiency

Collaborate with operations, finance, and leadership teams on staffing, forecasting, and resource planning

Guide client onboarding, engagement economics, and service delivery models

Mentor, develop, and grow high-performing tax professionals

Ensure compliance with quality, risk, and regulatory standards

Leverage technology and analytics to improve workflows, insights, and efficiency and continuous process improvement

Managing Director of Tax Advisory Requirements

10+ years of progressive tax experience with proficiency in preparing and reviewing S Corp and trust tax returns. CPA required.

Background advising high-net-worth individuals, closely held businesses, and multi-entity structures

Experience working with entrepreneurs, emerging growth companies, or family offices preferred

Prior client-facing leadership experience

Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax

Experience with individuals, partnerships, trusts, and S-corps

Exposure to complex tax strategies such as entity structuring, deferred compensation, and transactions

Proven ability to lead, mentor, and build high-performing teams with a solutions-oriented mindset

Strong communicator who can translate complex tax topics clearly
