ABOUT LOGIC
Logic is a practitioner-led program management firm that helps utilities, public agencies, and infrastructure owners deliver complex capital programs. Our teams provide program and project controls, PMO and governance, and organizational change and business transformation, working inside our clients’ programs as part of their teams, not advising from the sidelines. We hire experienced people, give them real ownership of their work, and build an inclusive environment where they want to stay. Join us to do work that keeps critical infrastructure moving.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Logic is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Data Analyst II to support a utility wildfire program for a major utility client in the San Diego area. This role supports reporting and analytics work for wildfire mitigation programs and regulatory deliverables. That work includes gathering, transforming, validating, reconciling, analyzing, and visualizing data, and turning technical findings into clear, defensible information. It’s a strong fit for a data professional with 2–5 years of experience who enjoys owning analytics work from start to finish and wants work with real-world public safety impact. You’ll work closely with project managers, subject matter experts, data owners, and regulatory stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting & Analytics
Execute processes to assess client datasets and prepare reliable, traceable data for analysis, reporting, and visualization.
Lead assigned reporting and analytics projects independently, including planning, stakeholder coordination, testing, documentation, and delivery.
Build and maintain interactive Power BI or Tableau dashboards that communicate key performance indicators and wildfire mitigation performance in an actionable format.
Apply statistical methods and diagnostic or predictive modeling, as appropriate, to identify trends, patterns, relationships, and anomalies.
Develop thorough test plans and perform QA/QC to confirm the proper functioning of reports, calculations, dashboards, and data automation tools.
Wildfire Mitigation Regulatory Support
Support quarterly data and spatial reporting, annual information reports, Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP) filings and tables, and regulatory data requests.
Gather, analyze, validate, and reconcile data that supports quarterly data reports, WMP tables, effectiveness studies, narratives, and regulatory responses.
Investigate reporting changes, anomalies, conflicting values, missing information, and source-system discrepancies, and coordinate resolution with data owners and program SMEs.
Validate data for accuracy, completeness, consistency, traceability, and alignment across regulatory deliverables.
Documentation, Communication & Continuous Improvement
Document data sources, metric definitions, calculation methodologies, assumptions, business rules, validation procedures, and data lineage.
Translate technical analyses into plain-language findings and recommendations for project managers, executives, business leaders, and regulatory stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to improve data quality, standardize methodologies, automate recurring processes, and reduce manual effort.
Perform all work in accordance with client procedures, security and confidentiality requirements, and established data governance practices.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, or a related field — or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong proficiency with Power BI and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including reconciliation, data shaping, and quality review.
2–5 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, data management, business intelligence, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience independently leading reporting or analytics assignments.
Strong proficiency in SQL for database querying and analysis.
Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis, automation, or modeling.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
Strong attention to detail and the ability to explain technical findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to attend in-person meetings in the San Diego area as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in utility, wildfire mitigation, regulatory reporting, compliance, risk, asset management, or infrastructure programs preferred.
Hands-on experience with AWS data tools, including Amazon S3 and Amazon Redshift, preferred.
Working knowledge of statistics, hypothesis testing, and data modeling preferred.
Power BI Data Analyst certification or a comparable analytics certification preferred.
