About the Role:
Our client, an established manufacturer serving government and commercial customers, is seeking a Vice President of Finance to serve as a senior financial leader. This highly visible role reports to the CFO and focuses on accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls.
Vice President of Finance Position Summary:
The Vice President of Finance will lead the accounting and reporting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information and timely reporting. This person will partner with executive leadership to support long-term planning, improve financial performance, and drive operational excellence, while developing a high-performing finance team.
Essential
Financial Leadership & Strategy
Serve as a key financial advisor to the CFO and executive leadership.
Lead the accounting, tax, financial reporting, and internal control functions.
Provide financial insight through analysis, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
Drive continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.
Partner cross-functionally with operations and program leaders to improve cost visibility and support decisions.
Accounting Operations & Reporting
Oversee core accounting operations, including the month-end close and consolidated reporting.
Ensure timely, accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements.
Manage cost accounting, inventory valuation, and variance analysis in a manufacturing environment.
Planning, Compliance & Audit
Support budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
Lead external audits and maintain audit readiness.
Ensure compliance with applicable financial, tax, and government contracting requirements.
Oversee indirect rate structures and related compliance.
Internal Controls & Leadership
Establish and maintain strong internal controls and risk management practices.
Recruit, develop, and lead the accounting and finance team.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA strongly preferred.
10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including Controller-level responsibilities.
Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
