Who We Are!
DMK Golf Design is a golf course architecture firm led by David McLay Kidd, known for creating and renovating award-winning golf courses around the world, including the recently completed Bone Valley course at Streamsong Resort. This role also supports the finance and administrative needs of Golf Landscapes, Inc., an affiliated construction company. We're looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Controller to oversee financial operations and support HR and benefits administration across both companies.
What You Get to Do!
The Controller is a senior, higher-level role responsible for the overall financial operations, reporting, and internal controls of both DMK Golf Design, Inc. and Golf Landscapes, Inc., along with HR administration and oversight of outsourced payroll and 401(k) services. The Controller will work alongside the companies' existing financial data entry/AP staff member, providing oversight and review of that work while focusing on higher-level accounting functions: accounts receivable management in Sage 100, financial reporting and analysis, cash flow management, budgeting, and management of construction lien requirements on Golf Landscapes' construction contracts. This is an in-office role requiring a minimum of 30 hours per week, suited to an experienced financial professional comfortable both managing broader financial strategy and collaborating day-to-day with existing staff in a small-company environment.
Accounting / Finance
Manage accounts receivable (AR) functions in Sage 100, including invoicing, payment application, and collections follow-up
Work alongside and provide oversight/review of the work of the company's existing financial data entry and accounts payable (AP) staff member

Reconcile accounts, close the books monthly, and prepare financial statements and periodic reports for ownership
Manage cash flow, budgeting, and financial planning/forecasting
Establish and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures
Serve as the primary point of financial guidance and analysis for ownership and leadership
Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with company policy and applicable regulations
Prepare and post journal entries in both Sage 100 and QuickBooks
Prepare and organize year-end accounts and supporting documentation for submission to the company's outside CPA for tax preparation
Insurance, Multi-State Compliance & Construction Lien Administration
Manage the companies' business insurance programs, including general liability, professional liability/E&O, and other required coverage, working with brokers/carriers on renewals and claims
Manage state-by-state business compliance requirements as the companies operate on projects across multiple states, including foreign entity registration, business licensing, and contractor/construction licensing
Manage all construction lien requirements arising from Golf Landscapes, Inc.'s construction contracts, including preliminary/pre-lien notices, conditional and unconditional lien waivers and releases, and mechanic's lien filings and deadlines, in compliance with each project state's lien statutes
Track renewal deadlines and maintain records for all licenses, registrations, insurance policies, and lien-related filings to ensure the companies remain in good standing in every state of operation
HR &
Administration
Manage day-to-day HR administrative functions, including onboarding, personnel records, and policy compliance
Manage the relationship with and processing through the outsourced payroll service
Manage the relationship with and administration of the outsourced 401(k) plan provider
Administer employee benefits programs, including medical insurance, bonus programs, and profit sharing
General Administration
Support vendor and contractor coordination (contracts, purchase orders, follow-up)
Maintain organized digital and physical financial and personnel filing systems
Prepare, format, and proofread financial and business documents and reports
Support the design team and ownership with financial and administrative needs as requested
Other duties as assigned
What You Will Bring...
Experience with QuickBooks and Sage 100, or similar accounting software required
