Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Designer to support the Casual Intimates & Shapewear team in New York City.

This opportunity focuses on garment fittings, fit evaluation, technical specifications, pattern corrections, tech packs, and product development from initial development through final fit approval.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with intimates, shapewear, and/or apparel, and can independently lead fittings, provide detailed fit comments, and collaborate with overseas vendors and factories. This person should be detail-oriented, technically strong, collaborative, and comfortable managing multiple styles and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Own the technical design process from development through final fit approval.

Lead and participate in garment fittings, evaluating fit, construction, and overall quality.

Develop and maintain fit specifications, technical packages, and garment measurements.

Write detailed fit comments and pattern corrections for vendors and factories.

Review prototypes, samples, and garment construction to ensure fit consistency.

Communicate sample corrections, revisions, and approvals with manufacturing partners.

Ensure garments meet established fit, quality, design, and cost standards.

Collaborate with Design, Product Development, Production, and Technical Design teams.

Monitor fit approvals, sample development, and production timelines.

Provide guidance and support to Assistant and Associate Technical Designers.

Qualifications

5+ years of Technical Design experience within intimates and/or apparel.

Strong experience with intimates, shapewear, casual apparel, or related product categories.

Hands-on experience leading fittings and evaluating garment fit.

Ability to write detailed fit comments, technical specifications, and pattern corrections.

Strong understanding of garment construction, patterns, measurements, and fit standards.

Experience developing and reviewing tech packs and technical documentation.

Experience communicating directly with vendors and factories.

Ability to manage multiple styles, samples, and development deadlines.

Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Comfortable working onsite in Manhattan 4–5 days per week.
