About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced
Staff Accountant
to join a growing public accounting firm in Eatontown, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have at least
3 years of public accounting experience , strong QuickBooks Online skills, and the ability to independently manage multiple client relationships and priorities.
This role offers hands-on client exposure, mentorship from experienced accounting professionals, and long-term career growth within a collaborative firm where team members are encouraged to contribute ideas and take ownership of their work.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day accounting needs for a portfolio of small business clients.
Work directly with clients and business owners to address accounting questions and provide ongoing support.
Perform bookkeeping and general ledger activities, including bank reconciliations.
Prepare quarterly and year-end journal entries and adjustments as needed.
Review financial records for accuracy and help resolve discrepancies.
Maintain accurate and organized client accounting records using QuickBooks Online.
Manage multiple client relationships, priorities, and deadlines effectively.
Collaborate with other accounting professionals to support client engagements and year-end requirements.
Assist with tax-related accounting matters as needed.
Qualifications
3+ years of public accounting experience required.
Strong proficiency with
QuickBooks Online .
Hands-on experience with bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
Ability to effectively manage multiple clients and competing deadlines.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Knowledge of tax preparation and/or
Lacerte
is helpful but
not required .
This is a full-time, in-person opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working directly with small business owners and managing a variety of client accounting needs.
